June, Bolivia, Packing, Endings and Beginnings (Good Bye Events)

June 20 will end a five years in Lima, Peru and mark the transition to our life in Yokahama, Japan.

Next year, 2016, we will be living in Japan working among the Nikkei people that have returned to Japan to work.  Japan is the country that has the highest number of Nikkei living within its borders. Brazil is the largest. Peru has the third largest Nikkei population.

A critical part of missions is prayer.  We need to align our hearts and desires with the desires God has for the world. We very much appreciate your prayers for the Nikkei and our family.
Please continue to pray.

These pictures are a mixture of some from our trip to Riberalta, Bolivia and some of the goodbye events that we are having.

Tim and Joy

Pray for Riberalta. People everywhere need to hear the Gospel.

This month we have visited Riberalta, Bolivia.  This city has the largest Nikkei population in Bolivia.  There are a lot of physical and spiritual needs in this city.  As you can see people travel by motorcycle.  We are thankful for the Christians that are in this city

The Nikkei Cultural Center leadership was very pleased with the bookmarks that we had created.
They really enjoyed the Historical perspective on Sumo, language, culture and Kangi.  Yoshi, a former Sumo wrestler, explained that many of the Chinese characters that were also adopted for writing in Japan have many combination of pictures that make a lot of sense if you have a Biblical world view.  The President of the Cultural Center asked that this presentation be made two more times at different events.  I think this introduction was very helpful in allowing the three Nikkei pastors in this city build a relationship with many of their Nikkei friends.

May 2015

Paraguay
In March Tim was in Pedro Juan Caballero, Paraguay.  We were able to participate in several Bible study and outreach events. A father and his daughter accepted Christ at a weekly Bible study meeting.
We met many Nikkei in this town.  We were able to spend time with a Brazilian family who is currently living in Paraguay to help lead the church in this town.
The church is over 50 years old and has been established and lead by missionaries visiting regularly from Brazil.  Please pray for the believers in this town and the 10 small Nikkei populations scattered around Paraguay. Most of these communities do not have an evangelical church in their community.

Venezuela
Also, we were able to visit Venezuela and connect with the Wayuu that we worked with more than 10 years ago.  At one of the home Bible studies we had three family members that accepted Christ and said that they wanted to be Baptized.  A service is scheduled for this month.  There are still some friends we reconnected with that have not made a decision for Christ.  The church is growing, cell groups are growing and people are individually maturing in their relationship with God. (Praise)  We discussed their involvement with mission work in Venezuela and with indigenous people around South America.
Peru
We are coming to the close of our time in Lima. We are connecting people we have been ministering to with some our Peruvian Christian friends.
Yoshihisa Shimoda (Japanese missionary in Peru) is going to Bolivia with our team this week to share in Riberalta, Bolivia.  (please pray for the mission team this week)  Jesus Loo and Carlos Baca will also be apart of mission team in Bolivia this week.

We will be in the states from June 20th until sometime Feb/March of 2016..
